"I felt depressed after that happened to me"

A pair of young girls racially have assaulted a woman on the Toronto subway, throwing slurs about the Coronavirus.

In a video posted by Instagram user Jenny, the two girls are seen on the platform looking at the woman.

One girl approaches her and declares,”I don’t like Asian people cos they eat bats.” The other girl is seen laughing hysterically.

“Coronavirus bitch,” the first girl says before running off.

On Instagram, Jenny explained how they started annoying her when she was about to get off the bus.

“I already gave them 2 chances to apologize to me and reminded them that I am making a video of them,” she wrote. “They started annoying me when I was about to get off a bus.”

She went on to say that she hope she can teach the girls a lesson, which they already should have known.

“I knew that what was wrong and right when I was 10 at least. I hope that you would learn something this time if you don’t know about that yet,” Jenny wrote. “Also, I already told them that they are better not to otherwise I am going to report it to police. I feel that I should write something otherwise they will do same thing to their friends.”

In another post, Jenny thanked her followers for the support but said she would likely delete the video.

“I really appreciate the people who have shared the video, left comments, and sent me cheerful and positive messages,” she wrote. “I haven’t read all of them yet but I am trying to check all comments and messages as much as I can and will delete the video tomorrow probably.”

Jenny explained that someone had identified one of the girls and the purpose of the video was to get an apology and deter the girls from repeating their behaviour.

“Someone tagged one of girls in the video last night and I know who she is,” Jenny wrote. “The reason I uploaded the video is first, I wanted their apology. Second, I wanted no more people abused by them.”

“Third, I wanted people to be aware of how terrible it is to be attacked based on race,” she continued. “Not only towards Asians during the Covid-19 outbreak but all other forms of racism. Honestly, I never expected that I would ever go through something like this.”

The incident affected Jenny immediately but she said that she has recovered now.

“I felt depressed after that happened to me when I was on my way home but I am alright now,” she said. “I am mature and I know that it is not necessary to bother myself with something so stupid and ignorant.”

“I haven’t gotten an apology from them yet but I am deleting it shortly because I know that the young girls can’t handle the situation if it is too much,” Jenny added. “I believe that they will regret their mistake when they grow up.”

In related news, A Coronavirus hospital worker has been called out for sending a racist message to an Asian social media user.

I still want your apology. Hello people, Thanks you for all of your support. I really appreciate the people who have shared the video, left comments, and sent me cheerful and positive messages. I believe that they will regret their mistake when they grow up. Thank you for the people who offered to pay for my Uber! Fortunately, I still have my job but I know that many people in hospitality have lost their jobs and a lot of businesses are having hard time. Hopefully, the corona virus is gone soon and everybody has a job to go back to! Thank you for your patience to read this long story 💆‍♀‍ Jenny
